I can also output 1440p to my 1080p monitor if I wanted. For example, if i just plug in my xbox to my monitor it will be at 60hz, but I can change settings to make it manually output 120hz.
Unlike the PS5, on xbox you can manually set the video output if HDMI does not automatically read the desired signal setting you want. Perhaps it is an issue on PS5’s end with their automatic input recognition. I’ve tried disabling HDCP in the PS5 settings, I’ve tried using HDMI 2.1 for both cables going to the adapter, and I’ve tried to get it to work using different PS5 settings and different monitor settings. It just seems the adapter restricts the PS5 only. I use an ASUS VG259QM monitor and have never had issues getting 120hz on both consoles before using the adapter.

On the other hand, on my xbox series X, the adapter works perfectly and I can get 1080p 120Hz.
However, when it comes to my PS5, the adapter restricts my monitor to 60 Hz. I recently got the astro HDMI adapter for my ps5 and series X to use my DAC+amp.
